Print Technology Magazine Releases Latest LED Lighting Development Trend Report

A report released by the printing technology magazine Electronics ForYou shows that despite the multiple benefits of LED lighting, only a relatively high initial cost has prevented the industry from currently mass production. Therefore, the current goal set by each participant in the LED lighting industry is to create an LED lamp that can be used for commercial operations. Like the 60W incandescent lamp, it is sold at a cost price of $5 to $10. Innovation is needed everywhere on the road to achieving this goal.

LED lamp luminous efficiency and light energy output index double every 36 months, performance will also be doubled, which is consistent with Moore's Law (Moore's Law). The performance, color quality and life of LED lamps have improved over the past few years. The application-specific solutions based on the current LED lamp technology range from 2700K to 6500K, with color rendering (CRI) values ​​ranging from 70 to 95. The life cycle of white LED lamps has been greatly increased to more than 100,000 hours, which significantly reduces maintenance and replacement costs.

The report pointed out that the entire LED lighting industry is very optimistic and has fully carried out the following innovations:

1) Omnidirectional LED lights. Just like an incandescent light, if the LED light wants to become the benchmark of the general lighting industry, it must be illuminated in all directions. The omnidirectional LED light technology seems to provide a solution for multi-directional lighting patterns easily.

2) Organic LED lights. It is expected to be a small, high performance and environmentally friendly lamp.

3) Clever design. It provides an alternative to traditional incandescent lamps and has similar parameters and light output.

4) Non-contact phosphor technology. This technology was chosen as a countermeasure to reduce costs.

5) AC LED lights. Its light output and performance are kept at the same level as DC LEDs, eliminating the need for AC to DC conversion and the electronic components required for DC LEDs.

6) Production of thorium materials. Due to the significant drop in the cost of helium and the wide range of sources, all of it is considered by the companies concerned as a fundamental way to reduce costs.
