3DTouchPad adds free-space gesture recognition for projected capacitive multi-touch, giving a new definition of input sensing, making it an attractive development platform and reference design. The 3DTouchPad is the first development platform to focus on the 2D multi-touch capability and 3D aerial gesture-sensing input for the PC/peripheral market, using Microchip GesTIC® technology capable of detecting 3D gestures in the 10 cm range, and supporting up to 10 Microchip's high-sensitivity projected capacitive 2D multi-touch solution with touch points and multi-finger plane gestures provides powerful, innovative 3D gesture recognition. Microchip's new capacitive touchscreen driver MTCH652, released on October 8, significantly improves 2D multi-touch performance.
The new 3DTouchpad can be used without a driver for Windows® 7/8.X and OS X® systems, providing 3D aerial gesture sensing, advanced multi-touch capabilities including flat gestures, and a free download for developers. GUI and SDK/API packages.
