Looking at Consumer Electronics Development Trends in 2011 from CES

Tablet PCs and smart TVs are the highlights of this year's CES show. 3D digital video cameras and 3D digital cameras are beginning to enter the field of vision. These products all indicate the development direction of this year's consumer electronics market.

From television manufacturers to network providers, to mobile phone manufacturers, PC makers, and even some computer monitor manufacturers, all exhibited their own tablet computer products at CES, all want to grab a market from Apple iPad. The current market share of iPad is close to 90%.

Most of the new tablet PCs on display at CES are based on Google's Android operating system, but they also have some Windows-based tablets and some use other mobile operating systems. Windows-based products often fall short when compared with Android tablets, which are usually faster, easier to operate, and less likely to crash.

Since Android 3.0 is not yet available, most of the products exhibited by the manufacturers use the earlier version 2.1 or the more common version 2.2. The products most likely to threaten iPad's dominance this year are expected to be Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Motorola Xoom. Xoom let people appreciate the elegance of the future Android 3.0 product, its thin profile, with a 10.1-inch screen, with 1,280 × 800 pixels. Xoom plans to launch in the first quarter of this year, the price is comparable with the iPad.

MEMS gyroscopes and DRAM will benefit from the development of the tablet market. The tablet computers that Motorola, Acer and other manufacturers display at CES are equipped with MEMS accelerometers, gyroscopes, BAW filters and even Pressure Sensors, which indicates that more and more tablets will adopt MEMS sensors. It is estimated that by 2014, the tablet PC will become the second largest MEMS application market in the consumer and mobile field.

In addition, smart phones using MEMS gyroscopes will show explosive growth in 2011. It is expected that more than 45 smartphones and tablets will be equipped with gyroscopes this year, and most will be based on the Android operating system.

Tablet PCs have also created a new growth point for DRAM makers. Many tablet computers exhibited at CES this year contain 1GB of mobile DRAM, which indicates that the DRAM industry will be greatly promoted by tablet computers. According to IHS iSuppli, overall, tablet PC shipments this year are expected to reach 57.2 million units, which is much higher than the 16.5 million units in 2010 and will continue to grow in the coming years.

However, the current tablet and smart phone boom is also ending the future of netbooks and PNDs, as more and more companies are beginning to integrate GPS capabilities and 3G/4G access capabilities among them. For example, Verizon has launched at CES. A number of Android tablets that work with their LTE networks. IHS iSuppli also predicts that more than 135 million smartphones sold this year will have navigation capabilities and will reach 269.3 million in 2013.

Smart TV is another bright spot product at CES in 2011. Each TV maker no longer emphasizes Internet TV (IETV), but emphasizes "smart TV" because its content has expanded. Smart TV is not only an IETV with partial or full browsing capabilities, but also has an extended application suite, software development tools (SDK) for application developers, and advanced remote controls. The precise definition of smart TVs may be gradually reduced to several specific applications in the future, including Internet browsing, social networking, games, health, and specialized platform applications.

3D TV was once the theme of last year's CES, but at this year's CES, although many brands of TV manufacturers exhibited active 3D, passive 3D, and glasses-free 3D TVs, they all no longer emphasize 3D TV and instead highlighted Emphasize that 3D is only a function within the TV.

3D digital camcorders and cameras have also attracted a lot of attention at CES. Sony expects to launch a 3D digital camcorder to boost the market for digital camcorders that have recently grown sluggish. According to IHS iSuppli, global camera shipments this year will be only 16.3 million units, slightly higher than last year's 16.1 million units.

In addition to Sony, major players in the industry such as Samsung Electronics, Casio and Canon have also announced the launch of 3D cameras. Panasonic also plans to launch 3D digital cameras this year.

Intelligent Diffuse-silicon Flush Diaphragm Pressure Transmitter BPZ series combine measuring, display and transmitter together, it can correct the linearity and compensate tempreature drift. It also can adjust the parameter of transmitter by hand-helder, achieve accurate  date transfer by using Hart protocol or RS485 protocol.
