Sony's price reduction for the European market PSP seems to pave the way for the listing of NGP

Sony cuts prices for European market PSP Suspected to pave the way for NGP listing According to overseas media reports, after lowering the North American PSP price a month ago, Sony announced that it would cut the prices of PSPs in Europe and cut prices by 24%. The latest price of the PSP is now £129.99 (approximately RMB1,390).

When the PSP just entered the European market in 2005, the price was 249.99 pounds (about 2675 yuan). Sony's price cuts are mainly aimed at players in the mainstream market who are eager to purchase game consoles but are facing tight budget problems. Of course, they also want to attract more young players.

In February of this year, Sony lowered the price of the US PSP to US$129.99, while the original cost would cost US$169.99. The global sales volume of this handheld as of December 2010 was 67.8 million units, and it was only US$249.99 when it entered the US market in 2005.

"PSP's new suggested retail price, supplemented by a variety of games, opens a portable game window for more people - especially young players." Hardware platform sales from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) Manager Isabelle Tomatis said so. He also stated that starting on April 14th, European PSP players will be able to use their PS network ID to access cloud-based music service systems.

After Sony announced the birth of NGP (the next-generation PSP) in January, it began to reduce prices for PSP. According to information provided by Sony, NGP will have a lot of high-end features, including 3G mobile communications, wireless Internet access, touch screen, flash memory card support software, motion sensors, built-in GPS, and a quad-core CPU.

Investment company analyst Colin Sebastian made a prediction earlier this year about the NGP listed later this year. His proposed price for NGP in the United States is "at least" $299.
