The Ai Luowei Me2 Smart Projector is a split-projection device developed by Ai Luowei, featuring the MIUI TV system. It has generated a lot of interest among consumers. But the big question is: can the Me2 be used effectively during the day? How does it perform in bright lighting conditions? Today, we’ll take a closer look at its real-world performance!

The Me2 boasts a physical resolution of 1920x1080, matching the quality of today’s full HD TVs. It uses a unique three-piece small air-gap coupling prism technology along with an all-glass fly-eye lens. This design helps avoid common issues like "coking" caused by resin lenses in other projectors. With a size of 23mm x 23mm and a luminous area 1.5 to 2 times larger than traditional models, the Me2 achieves an impressive brightness of 1100 lumens. These specs are key to delivering excellent image quality.
So how does it hold up in daylight? Let's check out some real-life tests.
For our test, we chose both a dark night and a sunny noon. Here's what we found.

Left: Night performance | Right: Daylight performance

The image above shows the Me2's performance at night. Importantly, I wasn’t in a completely dark room — I could still see my hands, but the projector still delivered good results in a semi-lit environment. If you have a dedicated projection space, the image quality would be even better.

The image on the right shows the Me2’s performance during the day. I tested it on a sunny afternoon in a room with large floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in a lot of natural light. Despite this, the projector still provided a clear and watchable image. This proves that the 1100 lumens output is more than enough for daytime use.

Night performance
In summary, the Ai Luowei Me2 performs very well. Its night-time image quality is nearly as good as a regular TV, and it can still deliver a satisfactory viewing experience even in bright daylight. This makes the Me2 a strong contender in the smart projector market. If you create an ideal viewing environment, the results will be even more impressive.
