Design of Programmable Street Lamp Control System Based on ZigBee

With the development of China's economic construction, the development and utilization of energy has become increasingly tense. Since March, many countries have experienced the phenomenon of “electricity shortage” in the off-season, and the low efficiency of electric energy utilization is one of the important reasons leading to the “electricity shortage”. Under this circumstance, the improvement of electric energy efficiency is forced to be anxious. With the continuous development of urban road network construction, the number of street lamps has increased, making people's management requirements for power conservation and street lamps more and more high. The use of advanced technology to save energy and improve the level of automatic control and management of street lamps has become an urgent task in the construction of urban lighting systems.

1 street lighting management status

1) Lighting facilities switch lights have poor uniformity, low level of intelligence, and do not have the time to remotely change the switch lights. The switch light time cannot be modified according to actual conditions, and energy waste is large, which increases the financial burden;

2) Street lamp equipment is scattered, management personnel are few, management is difficult, real-time, accurate and comprehensive monitoring of equipment operation status, lack of flexible control means; 3) manual inspection, large workload, low efficiency, high cost, waste of manpower and material resources Financial resources, lack of effective early warning mechanisms.

2 Introduction to ZigBee

ZigBee is an emerging two-way wireless networking communication technology with short distance, low complexity, low power consumption, low transmission rate and low cost. It is a technology between RFID (Radio Frequency IdenTIficaTIon) and Bluetooth.

3 GPRS Introduction

GPRS general packet radio service is a new bearer service, providing an efficient and low-cost wireless packet data service, especially suitable for intermittent, bursty and frequent data transmission. GRPS is always online, and the access speed is fast. Users can keep connected with the wireless network at any time, which can greatly improve the efficiency of remote data collection.

4 PLC Introduction

PLC can be programmed controller, which is an automatic control device with instruction memory, digital or analog input/output interface, which can complete logic, sequence, timing, etc., for controlling machine or production process. PLC has the characteristics of strong versatility, convenient use, wide adaptability, high reliability, strong anti-interference ability and simple programming.

5 system working principle

The configuration software is used as the control platform of the upper computer, and communicates with the field controller PLC through GPRS. The monitoring center software sends action instructions to each field controller through the GPRS network, so that the field controller completes various configurations and data collection work, and analyzes and processes the data sent by the field controller. The field controller receives the signal sent by the single-lamp controller through the ZigBee wireless communication device, performs analysis and processing, and sends information to the monitoring center through the GPRS communication system, thereby realizing remote wireless control of the street lamp, as shown in FIG.

The system consists of three parts: the field controller, the single lamp controller, and the monitoring center.
