Top experts in the field of communication gather in Shanghai WOCC 2010
The WOCC 2010, which will be held in Shanghai on May 15-17, 2010, invites top experts in the fields of wireless, optical communications, networking, and multimedia to speak.
Wu Hequan, the deputy dean of the Academy of Engineering, and Zhou Bingkun, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the honorary chairman of the conference. The chairman of the conference organizing committee is Dr. Wu Liji from Tsinghua University, Professor Yao Yudong from Steven Institute of Technology, and Dr. Ding Haitao, the full-time vice chairman of Shanghai Pudong Science and Technology Association. The chairman of the meeting coordination committee is Professor Zheng Zheng of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dr. Ye Sigen of Alcatel-Lucent, Ms. Cao Meiyu of Pudong Optoelectronics Industry Association and Ms. Zhou Xiali of Taiwan Economic Research Institute.

In order to pay tribute to Professor Gao Kun, who was the honorary chairman of WOCC 2002 and the Nobel laureate in 2009, the conference specially set up a special topic of "Kao Kun". The "High-Kun Special" will be sponsored by Corning of the United States, IEEE Fellow, Dr. Tang Fuji of Hongkong New Technology Group, Dr. Ming-Jun Li, the first chief scientist of Chinese fiber optics at Corning ’s US research headquarters, and fiber design of OFS Lab And Dr. Robert Lingle, Director of Transmission Engineering, and Prof. Chongcheng Fan from Tsinghua University, respectively, in the topic of Gao Kun, about the history of optical fiber and the Nobel Prize process of Gao Kun, the birth of optical fiber, optical fiber technology and innovative thinking brought by the award of Gao Kun Speech.
