When trying to transfer files from a touchscreen to a computer using a network cable, you might encounter an error message saying "pdz file not found". This issue can be frustrating, but it usually has a clear cause. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve it.

To successfully return a program from the touchscreen, two key conditions must be met:

1. During the program download, a memory card must be inserted into the touchscreen. Some touchscreens don’t support memory cards at all, which means they can't perform the backhaul function.
2. Make sure the "Enable Backhaul" option is checked in the transfer settings when you download the program. This setting is crucial for enabling the return feature.

If both of these conditions are satisfied, you can proceed to create a new project with the same device type and actual touchscreen model. Then, go to "Project" → "Transfer" → "Transfer Settings" to configure the communication port and protocol correctly.

If you still can’t return the program, consider using Prosave software to back up the touchscreen’s image. While this method allows you to save and restore the program, the resulting files are read-only and cannot be edited directly on your computer.

If you meet the return conditions, follow these steps:

1. Create a new project that matches the actual touchscreen model and device type.
2. Set up the communication port and protocol under "Project" → "Transfer" → "Transfer Settings".
3. Select "Project" → "Transfer" → "Return" to retrieve the files.

The returned files can be opened and edited on your computer, making them very useful for further development or modifications.

If the return condition isn’t met, you can only use the backup function to upload the program. Go to "Project" → "Transfer" → "Backup". However, the files obtained this way are also read-only and can only be used for restoring the program on the touchscreen.

In summary, ensuring the correct settings and hardware support is essential for successful data retrieval. Always double-check your configuration and remember that some touchscreens may have limitations depending on their model and firmware version.
