As of now, Hyundai has officially unveiled two distinct new designs for its compact SUV, the KONA. The vehicle is set to launch internationally on June 12 this year, positioning itself against competitors like the Nissan Juke, Honda HR-V, and Mazda CX-3.
The newly released official images showcase a highly distinctive split-headlight design with sleek upper headlights, making it quite memorable. Additionally, the car features a new hexagonal grille.
Further emphasizing its youthful appeal, the Hyundai KONA sports a two-tone color scheme on its body along with a pronounced waistline, giving it an athletic and fashionable look.
In terms of the rear, the KONA also boasts slender taillights that complement the front lights. Moreover, the new model integrates striking fog lights with the black cladding above the rear wheels.
From a performance perspective, the Hyundai KONA shares its powertrain with the new i30, offering options such as a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gas engine, a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine, and two different tunes of a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine.
Compared to models like the ix25, the new KONA seems poised to make a stronger visual impact. There are plans to introduce this model to China through the Beijing Hyundai Chongqing plant later this year.
