I encountered an issue with a Konka color TV model T25SE073, where it started to make a slapping sound, followed by a high-voltage package short circuit. After disassembling, the line tube was found to be shorted, so I removed the high-voltage package directly. The original high-voltage package used was BSC28-0637 (part number 30001472), but it's no longer available in stock. As a replacement, I used BSC28-0643 (part number 30001712). The test machine displayed a normal screen, but after connecting the signal for a few seconds, it shut down automatically to enter a protected state. Pressing the channel up or down button could restart it, but it would only show the boot screen before shutting down again. When on, the image appeared normal, which led me to suspect an issue with the protection circuit.
After thoroughly checking the protection circuit, I didn't find any obvious faults. However, I noticed that there are many similar issues reported online for SE series TVs. These problems often involve various protection circuits—standby, high-voltage detection, lamp protection, and current-limiting resistors. In this case, the resistor value was changed from 1 ohm to 2.2 ohms. This adjustment seemed to resolve the issue, as the test unit no longer shut down. It appears that the problem was caused by the higher voltage and current of the replaced high-voltage package, which triggered the protection mechanism.
