Second, the camera choice – Sony A7M2
Digital cameras are categorized into several types: SLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, compact cameras, telephoto cameras, and home cameras.
The photo quality of a compact camera no longer meets my husband’s needs. We still have a Sony TX66 at home, but it’s almost gathering dust. Even salted fish are too fast to sell…
SLR cameras are usually heavy, and they feel a bit burdensome when traveling. Plus, the price of a good SLR is quite high.
Since then, we've chosen a more balanced option – a mirrorless camera. It's slightly smaller but offers image quality comparable to an SLR.
After classifying from another perspective, cameras are divided into full-frame and half-frame models.
A full-frame camera has a sensor size equivalent to traditional 35mm film.
A half-frame (APS-C) is smaller, about half the size of a full frame.
The difference lies in the size of the image sensor. Larger sensors result in higher costs, so full-frame cameras are more expensive.
Most professional lenses are designed with full-frame as the standard. A full-frame lens can be used on a half-frame camera, but the performance won't be as good. Additionally, lenses with larger sensors tend to perform better in low light, offering better bokeh and clarity.
In short, a penny, a penny — the reason is clear.
So, after some thinking, we finally went for the Sony A7M2 at 9,599 yuan.
Third, the choice of lens: FE 28mm F2
There are two main aspects when buying a camera:

It’s generally divided into landscape photography, portrait photography, street photography, news photography, and sports photography. As a beginner, most people probably have similar needs: taking pictures of scenery and family during travels.
What is your budget?
Since we were still new, the body had already cost nearly 10,000 yuan, and we were learning about lenses from scratch. Our first lens for the A7M2 was under 3,000 yuan.

Because the lens is small, the filter thread is only 49mm, and the closest focusing distance is 0.29 meters.
