Global LCD TV shipments are expected to increase by 26% year-on-year in 2010

According to Paul Peng, executive vice president of AUO's global business unit, the company expects global LCD TV shipments to reach 181 million units in 2010, up 26% year-on-year.

Paul Peng also said that in the first half of 2010, global LCD TV shipments have shown an increase of about 30% year-on-year. In the first half of 2010 and the second half of 2010, the order-to-bill ratio of LCD TVs was 45:55.

AUO expects that this year, the LCD TV market in mainland China will reach 39 million units, which is more optimistic than the 36 million units estimated by many market observers.

Paul Peng pointed out that in the first half of 2010 and the second half of 2010, the TV panel shipment ratio was 49:51. Paul Peng also said that the narrowing of the gap between shipments indicates that higher than expected panel stocks will start from the second quarter. It will weaken the growth of shipments in the TV panel of the peak season in the second half of the year.

AUO pointed out that due to the growing demand for PCs from enterprises, panel shipments for PCs began to recover in the second quarter of 2010, and this demand is expected to continue into the third quarter. In 2010, LCD monitor shipments are expected to grow by 8% to 192 million units, while notebook shipments (including netbooks) will reach 217 million units.

Paul Peng pointed out that AUO's subsidiary, BriView Electronics, is focused on LCD TV production. The company has adjusted its production model. By the end of 2010, it expects to ship 200,000-300,000 units per month. And the total shipments in 2010 will exceed 1 million units.

Paul Peng said that Jingzhi Optoelectronics has entered the supply chain of the top five TV manufacturers and will begin shipping LED-backlit LCD TVs in the second half of 2010. Paul Peng also said that Jingzhi Optoelectronics currently has production facilities in Central Europe and China, and plans to establish equipment manufacturing plants in the United States and other parts of Europe.

EDM (electrical discharge machining), is a manufacturing process used to obtain a specific desired shape in metal by applying electrical discharges(sparks),When it comes to using electrical discharge machining, the water serves as a key component. To get the best performance from an Edm Machine, the water must be kept as clean as possible. During the EDM process, some of the metal goes into the water as small particles. The water is filtered and deionized(demineralized) in order to remove those metal atoms. Deionized water helps to promote a higher metal removal rate and enhances the machine`s capacity to deliver a more precise cut. So the EDM water filter is very important component for EDM water filtration system.
